Posted: Oct 01, 2012
Mereco Technologies Group and its Metachem Resins Corporation announce the start-up of its DMS Polymer Test Services Unit. DMS will provide routine and non-routine analysis of formulated polymer physical, mechanical, thermal and electrical properties using state-of-the-art equipment that has been purchased to equip the business.
“The start-up of DMS Test Services is the culmination of the massive investment that Mereco has made in setting up a world-class analytical capability to service our scientific and engineering businesses.” according to Philip M. Papoojian, President and COO.
The technical side of DMS Test Services will be managed by Dr. John Tashiro, an organic chemist who has been employed at Mereco as Vice President of Research and Development since 1980. “Dr. Tashiro is considered one of a select group of formulation chemists in our industry. Having created many of our products, he knows our technology inside and out. He is the perfect person to have running our test business.” Papoojian stated.
DMS will utilize its broad array of analytical equipment in its testing. The equipment includes Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), ThermoMechanical Analysis (TMA), Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA), ThermoGravimetric Analysis (TGA), Particle Analysis, Rheometry, LaserFlash Thermal Conductivity Analysis, Universal Testing, gas Chromatography (GC), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Refractometry, Rheological Analysis, Hardness Testing, Electrical Property Analysis, and Colorimetry.
